The amusement park and the Tiki Pool are an adventure in and by themselves, but outside the gates of Duinrell even more fun is to be had. Take a bike ride or go hike and discover the natural surroundings of Duinrell.
Not to be missed during your holiday at Duinrell is a walk through the wonderful dunes of Meijendel. This, the largest dune area of South Holland, was chosen by the Dutch themselves as one of the three most beautiful nature reserves in the Netherlands. Meijendel extends out between Scheveningen, The Hague and Wassenaar, and consists of an open dune landscape, bodies of water, woodlands and miles of sandy beach.
Get on your bike and follow the Landgoederenroute. This route lets you take in dunes, hursts and meadows in all their glory. Cycle through the dunes of Meijendel and the Wassenaarse Slag, along grassy meadows and secluded spots. Along the way, there are of course plenty of opportunities catch your breath and treat yourself to a coffee and something tasty.
The Bollenstreek flower bulb region boasts a wonderful palette of colours in the spring when its flower fields are in full bloom. It's no surprise that this is the Netherlands’ most photographed landscape. Hop on your bike and cycle from Duinrell around 25 kilometres to the north, to marvel at the colourful bulb fields.
