How do you get from Duinrell to Amsterdam?

By car it's about 50 minutes drive from Duinrell to Amsterdam. Parking in Amsterdam is only quite expensive. There are several parking garages and streets where you can park your car. Rates vary per area. There are also different P+R parking locations. At these locations you can park and then switch to public transport. If you show your public transport chip card before you pay, you will get a special parking fee at these locations. Do not want to go to Amsterdam by car? Then you can also use public transport. The average travel time from Duinrell to Amsterdam is 1 hour and 25 minutes. From Duinrell take a bus to Leiden, The Hague or Voorschoten. Transportation in Amsterdam

There are several possibilities to get from A to B in Amsterdam. Rent a bike for example. By bike you can easily go anywhere in the city. There are many places in the city where you can rent a bike. If you prefer to make use of public transport, you can do so too. In Amsterdam it is also easy to get around by public transport. Tip: do you want to use public transport a lot? You will save a lot of euros if you use a day pass.




Cruise on the Amsterdam canals

You can admire Amsterdam from the water. With Amsterdam Canal Cruises you can book several canal cruises. For example, there is a city canal cruise with which you can take a trip along places of interest in 75 minutes. For the kids Amsterdam canal cruises has something special, namely "Wanted: Freshwater pirates". Parents can use audio commentary, while the children listen to an exciting children's story. The children also get an assignment booklet, pencils and a pirate viewer. In addition to these fun cruises, you can also explore the city with a hop-on-hop-off boat or in the evening with an evening cruise.

With a paddle boat through the Amsterdam canals

Another way to discover Amsterdam on the water is by renting a paddle boat. You can explore the canals and the surrounding area at your own tempo. Walk through the butterfly pavilion, see the tropical fish in the aquarium or visit the monkeys. You can do it all in ARTIS. ARTIS is a zoo in the centre of Amsterdam. The park is a combination of nature, culture and heritage. It is a fun outing for young and old.


Practical information: The park is open all year round. From 1 March to 31 October the park is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. From 1 November to 28 January, the park also opens at 9 a.m. but closes at 5 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the ticket office as well as online. Discover the world of science and technology in NEMO. NEMO is a museum in which different aspects of technology and science come to the fore. There are several exhibitions and many fun experiments can be carried out. You can learn how to purify water or capture your own energy.


Practical information: NEMO is open almost every day from 10.00 to 17.30 hours. There are a few exceptions. On some Mondays and on King's Day the museum is closed. Van Gogh Museum

The Van Gogh Museum offers various fun family and children's activities. For example, follow a family tour during which you can learn all the fun facts about Vincent van Gogh and his works of art. There is also an interactive audio tour for families. In addition to these tours there are also fun activities for children. There is a free treasure hunt for toddlers, a treasure hunt for children between 6 and 12 years and a checklist for the youth.

Madame Tussauds

Always wanted to take a picture with Ariana Grande or Taylor Swift Then be sure to visit Madame Tussauds. Madame Tussauds is a museum with all wax figures of world famous people as well as Dutch celebrities. In the museum you can take pictures with celebrities.

The Amsterdam’s Forest has something fun for everyone. From cuddling goats on the goat farm to a Segaway tour and from climbing between the trees to supping on the lake.
