In the presence of many invitees, the Duinrell Management and Charlie Aptroot, Acting Mayor of Wassenaar, a large group of children took the new indoor kids water park Playa into use.
The Tiki Pool water slide paradise has been expanded to include the nearly 1,000 sqm large kids water park Playa. The name Playa emphasises the water fun that children up to the age of 12 can have in this new section of the tropical Tiki Pool. Kids from the age of 4 can enjoy four water slides and a large water climbing frame which features a 'tipping bucket' that creates a huge waterfall. For children aged 4 and under, Playa offers a heated paddling pool where they can play with their parents. The opening of Playa makes the tropical Tiki Pool an ideal place to visit for the entire family.
Every year, 700,000 people visit the Tiki Pool, Europe’s fifth largest water park. H.R.J. Earl Van Zuylen van Nijevelt, founder of the water park, opened the Tiki Pool in 1984. Throughout the years, various water slides and water attractions have been added. This year, the latest additions have been the triple cone water slide Triton and the kids water park Playa. Thanks to the expansion, the Tiki Pool boasts water slides totalling 1.3 kilometres in length.
